Stagger Schoolhouse
Port-au-Prince, Haiti
In response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, a proposed schoolhouse in Haiti to serve as a primary school and a community center for the neighborhood. The proposed design is also self-sufficient with minimal need for electricity, external plumbing and active heating or cooling.
The schoolhouse provides the locals with six classrooms, a library, a multipurpose room and a clinic. The roof acts to catch rainwater that is collected at the top of the site and its fenestrations allow diffuse light and gentle winds into the classrooms.
